The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) needed a system for emergency preparedness efforts. The LADWP wanted their residents to have access to deployable, potable drinking water.
As part of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Water System emergency preparedness efforts, a contingency need was identified that would allow LADWP to provide a deployable potable drinking water solution during a natural or manmade outage until municipal services could be restored.
AEF in conjunction with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power worked together to design a storage system and write a technical specification that met NSF Standard 61 while meeting their deployment and storage needs. This resulted in a self-contained, collapsible storage system, which stores water in a robust airtight, maintenance-free, and tamper-proof container that is certified to last 10 years.
AEF, LLC delivered to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power team a low-cost effective system for deploying and distributing water that would allow for the temporary public access to potable drinking water at strategic locations in and around the City of Los Angeles during times of need.
